JOHNSON CITY PATIO HOMES

This is a favorite location for retirees who want to be able to travel without worrying about lawn care or who just don't want to be bothered with the big house and yard.

As a university town (East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine, Milligan, Northeast and others nearby),  it's home to many students and young professionals who don't have time for maintaining a larger home.

With our beautiful lakes and rivers and milder climate than our northern friends or our southern ones, we also have found a great place for a second home.   (Some of my friends winter here and summer in Florida, or winter in Arizona and summer here, for example.)

Many people want community amenities such as swimming pools, clubhouse, walking trails and lakes and yet don't want the expense of a higher-priced community which might have such facilities.

For these reasons, Johnson City has some very popular and very attractive patio home communities.

Samples:

Hunters Lake - Some of the homes in this neighborhood have views of a lake with fountains, a pretty bridge, and walking trails.   I have floor plans and details, as well as information on everything available in Hunters Lake   Ask me about others that may be available soon.  There are some fine estate homes, a few duplexes, and a range of sizes and prices in between, all with professionally planned and maintained landscaping.   Residents enjoy the community pool and their friends enjoy the use of the clubhouse for showers and meetings.    I know a number of families who would be great neighbors.

Waterbrooke -  See, for example, my listing at 1029 Waterbrooke, a fine example of the quality of space and amenities that make this a popular community.   Its location is particularly good - just off Knob Creek Road near the rapidly growing complex of Med Tech office buildings and near the new hospital which is just being built.   It's also near shopping and restaurants.   Built by the developer who did Hunters Lake, the neighborhood features lakes, trails, and community clubhouse.   Several friends who enjoy this neighborhood will be glad to tell you about it.

Villas at Browns Mill - These homes are mostly quads with fairly similar plans, many completely one level and some with space upstairs for office, hobbies or guests.   The original site is completely developed and new ones are now being built nearby.   The community has clubhouse and pool.   I recently helped the aunt of a local friend move here and she is delighted with the spacious plan and quality of her new home.   She tells me about the new friends and things they've found to enjoy here.

Village at Cardinal Forest - New development near the Bristol Highway but far enough away to be a quiet neighborhood.   The people I've shown it to are enthusiastic about the plans for the individual homes and for the development as a whole.
